Hi, A change was made a while ago to the Unix version of the file to only add tools.jar to the class path if debug or javac was specified on the command line. I am pretty sure that change was made because tools.jar is no longer needed, but, it could prove useful when debugging a problem? I provided a patch to setclasspath.bat to be consistent with the Unix version of the file. I also was going to provide a patch to the documentation to say that tools.jar is not loaded by default any longer. This would provide consistency all around.

Consistency is a good goal but in this case I think we may need to go the other way, i.e. remove tools.jar from one script instead of adding it to the other.
