http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=38898 Summary: Tomcat service fails without error message Product: Tomcat 5 Version: 5.5.9 Platform: PC OS/Version: Windows 2000 Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: Catalina AssignedTo: tomcat-dev@jakarta.apache.org ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] We're running Tomcat 5.5.9 on a Windows 2000 platform (running as a service) We're experiencing an intermittent problem which causes Tomcat to stop running. The only error logged is in the Windows System Event log: The Apache Tomcat service terminated unexpectedly. There are no errors in the stdout/stderror or other Tomcat log files (it's as if the process was forcibly terminated). According to our application's logging (which samples at 5 minute intervals) there's plenty of memory allocation remaining for Java (and indeed, if Java had run out of memory it fills the log files with memory errors), and the rest of the server's system resources look good. We're upgrading this weekend to 5.5.15 in the hope that this will fix the problem but I can't find any reference to this problem in the bug database or it having been fixed in the change log. Sorry this is vague (ie. can't provide exact steps to recreate). Have you heard of this problem before? Is there any further information I can provide which might help isolate the problem (or any ideas you can give to help extend the debugging information available).
