Hi Tino.

Have you searched the tomcat lists (user mostly I would say) for memory
related issues? There have been a large number of posts, including many
with pointers - not just assigning more JVM Heap - but actual tewaks,
settings, approaches to solving issues in varied cirumstances.

I think they would provide you with a great starting point - as many memory
related issues on things like TC are environment specific and also have to
do with striking a balance between the OS, TC, and other apps/servers
running - as well as considering load etc.

Rgds,

Carl

So could you please give me a hint, why you are not going to use it? My
"problem" is a real PROBLEM in production environments. There are Tomcat's
starving with OutOfMemoryErrors. What would be your approach to solving this
(apart from "give tomcat more memory")?

Bye+Thanks!

Tino.
