plan9port runs fine on amd64. I've been running it as such for quite
some time now. I'm pretty sure that Russ runs x86_64, too, so I would
expect it to work rather well there.
When I try to build it (plan9port) on FreeBSD 8.0-RC1 then I get error
saying that it is broken and works on i386 only... so probably it's just
something wrong with fbsd port and not p9p in general.
The FreeBSD port needs to be updated. Just grab the hg version
from plan9.us, put it in /usr/local/plan9, and run ./INSTALL. It
doesn't touch any files outside of that directory, so there's
really not much point in using the port.
