What can I say about myself? I’m Italian, but I’ve been living abroad for about 10 years now. I’m currently based in Graz, Austria, close to my beloved mountains, where I enjoy spending my free time... skiing in winter and hiking during the warmer seasons. I am a Data Scientist, and I began my journey in the field of Information Retrieval in 2020, when I joined Sease Ltd, where I currently work. Over the years, I have mainly focused on integrating machine learning into search systems, working on Learning to Rank and Search Quality Evaluation in e-commerce systems. More recently, I’ve been involved in projects related to vector search and the integration of LLMs. I enjoy exploring new technologies, applying state-of-the-art solutions in search, and sharing my knowledge through blog posts and talks (including participation in international conferences). I’m very happy to have become a committer, and I’m really looking forward to continuing to contribute to the Apache Solr project, as well as learning even more from your experience.
