Hi all!
another week passed by and i want to shortly checkin.
The bad things first,
I did not find time or motivation for weblate or extension website
migration. Overall i did spend less time on AOO last week then the month
before. Considering i really pushed 2 month with the bazel experiment
and the result this week is presentable. Not done, but It looks good.
That i do not need to present on Froscon is taking away a bit of
pressure. I am still determined to tackle the topics and to continue. I
am still happy with the progress.
The good news is:
1) Bazel
I managed to fix bugs. The bazel build for Windows 32 bit builds,
starts. The Wizard has only an optical issue, that the Product name and
Version are placeholders.
Writer starts to and you can write text with it. Sadly saving an ODF
file does not work. I already fixed a major issue of an incomplete
migration of the dependencies of redland and raptor. Both are
staitically linked, so that they are missing was less obvious. However
the issue still seems not 100% fit.
Sadly the menus in english are not visible. So something else is broken too.
I am very pleased with the progress, since the UI is visible and you
have actionable items. So it is a sign i am heading in a good direction.
It will take time thought until I can have the talk i want to have.
2) ODF filters
I really enjoyed that I could collab with Damjan on the preparation work
for ODF 1.3. The technical barrier is really low. First step is to
distinguish between editorial changes and changes we have to implement.
That is really cool. I plan to continue the work. I hope more people
step up, and we can do this for 1.4
all the best
Peter
