I believe that having a Debian repository would absolutely be a Good

Repositories allow to install software with a command as easy as:

# apt install package

They are an alternative, supported by (possibly) all Linux
distributions, not limited to Debian and Debian-based ones.

Given the widespread adoption of Ubuntu, a Debian repository remains

You will need to host the files on a HTTP/HTTPS server. Do you have
this possibility?
