I think there is an important distinction to make.  There are really
two numbers we can look at:

1) The probability that an AOO user will be running Linux

and

2) The probability that a Linux user will be running AOO

We only report the 1st number.  It is the only number we can measure
directly.  But I think some writers confuse it for the 2nd number,
which we cannot measure directly, but could estimate with some
Bayesian calculations.
