I'm closing this issue as it has been fixed for 4.0 and 2.3-next. There is some
additional investigation that is required for JSF 2.3 / 3.0 which I've opened
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MYFACES-4485 to investigate / discuss /
provide a solution.
