Tobago team, How do you feel about becoming a top-level project rather than remaining a subproject inside of MyFaces?
You now have at least four active committers, three of whom are ASF members and PMC members. I'd be willing to stay on as a PMC member as long as you need me, or even as the PMC chair if you like. I'm guessing other MyFaces PMC members would also be willing to stay with the new TLP. I propose we start dismantling MyFaces as an umbrella project wherever it makes sense. DeltaSpike shows that this can actually result in a more vibrant community. Our own experiences here in MyFaces shows some of the downsides of having so many subprojects, such as not noticing when a sub-project is starting to need help due to current contributors moving on, or overlooking new contributors because we assume someone else is working on the subproject. Tobago makes sense as a first step in that since 1) Tobago is already rather isolated from the other subprojects. 2) Active healthy Tobago community with years of experiences at the ASF. 3) It's called "Apache Tobago" rather than "Apache MyFaces Tobago" so we don't need to worry about branding or renaming issues.
