When I try to create a new project with MIC, it hangs because debootstrap
tries to connect to (hardcoded) ports.ubuntu.com which gives 100% packet
loss when I ping it (but so does google.com even though firefox works ;-)

After setting the network proxy, apt-get works in the NAT configuration on
Windows XP host (with Ubuntu 8.04 guest on VMWare Player).

Should I wait for longer time to see if it works? (How long does it usually take
to create a project?) Do I have to map some NAT ports or set proxy configuration
in a certain way?

Thanks,
Ajit
