I second on this.
Midinux is not so open for everybody to put SW on it without sign some
"NDA" with them.
That makes ISVs have to tightly couple their works to EVERY OSVs.
I don't think this is a healthy ecosystem.
axel lin ??:
I think Midinux is a close source distributions.
With Moblin, it is easy to install applications and handle package
dependency by apt.
I don't think you can easily put your applications on Midinux.
You have to handle all dependency by your self ( or contact RedFlag ).

2008/8/21 Robison, Clayne B <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
Midinux is one of two Moblin distributions that can be found on publicly
available MID devices. Ubuntu Mobile Edition is the other. Both are 'Moblin
Compliant' meaning if you write an application using the plain Moblin stack, it
should run on both distributions. Pre-built UME images are available at
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com. In order to get access to Midinux bits, you need to
contact them directly.

Subject: [Moblin Dev] How does MIDINUX fit into this?
I see Intel seems to be using a linux called Red Flag MIDINUX on their
demo's?
How does that relate to this project?
Are any of these devices available from Intels distributers yet?
Thanks....
I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but if we go for this, we probably
going to go down on it for a year.. for us thats a huge investment... thanks
