I you mean 'merging' by 'coalesce', please also incorporate http://docs.codehaus.org/display/MAVEN/Maven+2.1+Design+Documents I'm a bit confused between the difference of that one and the Architectural goals. There's too many pages floating around now, and I wish subpages were used properly to put documents in the proper scope.
