If I understand it correctly, an application, which is Liquibase in this particular case, created its own logging API rather than using one available in the market and contributing its implementations to logging frameworks to support its API. Isn't this, if I may say, ill-advised approach exactly the thing that logging APIs are trying to overcome? Further, wouldn't promoting this conflict with the goal of making logger APIs wider adaptation?
Let's think the other way around: Why doesn't Liquibase simply use the Log4j API? What is stopping them from doing this? Are there any technical blockers?
