Not to mention that the process doing this might itself be a victim of the OOM 
Killer. You'll probably even want to adjust its score so that it gets killed 
first, instead of some other process that has legitimate uses for the memory.

That means you'll need to do this in a separate process, which means fork() 
and, thus, more resources getting used...
