Hi Mickael, I just opened a blocker https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-20428 , it's a regression in 4.3 and could make the consumer.unsubscribe fail, so will fix it and cherry-pick. I'm already on it and shouldn't be too complicated, will update when done.
