I'm perfectly amenable to that as well and meant to mention it in my original message, then got bogged down with questions of who is permitted to publish... the answer being any committer, since the access lists are based on svn access. Some PMCs might prefer to only allow PMC members to make releases, for example, which the Nexus install can't actually enforce, not having access to the PMC group membership lists.
