GitHub user edespino added a comment to the discussion: [Ideas] Remove Bundled Python Packages in Cloudberry Main Repo
@tuhaihe I wonder if anyone is actively using pylint in development or in testing? Personally, I am not aware of it being in use. I would cross-post this on dev@cloudberry.apache.org to see if anyone is actively using pylint. If they are, we can determine if we can possibly switch to [ruff](https://github.com/astral-sh/ruff) (another Python Linter with a compatible MIT licesne) or another license compatible alternative. If it not in use or no one responds, we should remove it as it is GPv2 which is incompatible with Apache License policy. I can assist with the removal and also leaving a note that it was removed and to consider moving a compatible linter if one is needed. For now, I would leave the others in place until someone has time and the interest to review them for the project.
