It'll be 6.0. At some point we will cut the release branch cassandra-6.0, and likely at the same time cut a 6.0-alpha1 release. How long it takes to stablise that branch to GA is unknown, but there are typically a few alpha releases, a few beta releases and a few rc releases first.
We are waiting on jdk21 work (CASSANDRA-18831) to wrap up and work on accord to get a sign-off from all those involved in it. (I don't know of anything else – folk will probably say things should be in, but we're already long overdue, so I think when those^ are done we should just move. But this is just my 2cents, and a separate discussion the project needs to have, when the time is right.)
