I too worry about adding more CLs, especially 'special' ones like these.

I think it would be great to finally make CLs pluggable.  There has
already been a good amount of demand there.

I agree.  No matter how obviously we name them, someone will
unknowingly use them, potentially generating some deep rabbit holes to
go down with troubleshooting.
