Either groups.google.com or giganews ignores (drops) messages containing
a base64 encoded block of data, such as the one contained in S/MIME
signed messages. We had asked to get this resolved [1], but didn't get a
response, and it's still broken.

Apparently the following archives correctly include signed messages:
http://blog.gmane.org/gmane.comp.mozilla.crypto
http://mozilla.6506.n7.nabble.com/Mozilla-Cryptography-f185722.html
http://www.mail-archive.com/dev-tech-crypto@lists.mozilla.org/

For example, search the archives for "ECDSA Thunderbird". Only the
archives from nabble and mail-archive contain the complete thread for
the "ECDSA support in Thunderbird" discussion from February/March,
including David Woodhouse's signed message.

We shouldn't recommend that people use the google site to read this
newsgroup, nor to search for past posts. I've updated the list
information page accordingly. In particular, I've changed the link to
the list archive to the nabble.com archive, as that one produced the
largest set of results in my tests.

Regards
Kai
