The keyserver can forward the original signed email to you,
which includes an *exact* copy of the signed message body.
In my understanding this includes all the S/MIME meta information that
the original message had included.
This approach should support all scenarios.
Please go ahead and try it.
(The scripts that extract information for separate download of certs are
probably not yet smart enough to deal with multi-key certificates, but I
can look into it, once I have some test data.)
