Thanks for responding. (I sent this several days ago, but wasn't actually
subscribed to the list... duh)

I got the sample code from this doc:
http://www.mozilla.org/projects/security/pki/nss/fips/secpolicy.pdf

It's the only example I could find of running NSS in FIPS mode.

Now, I realize this doc is stated as being a draft here
(https://wiki.mozilla.org/Section_C:_Cryptographic_Security_Policy), but
since it's essentially the same content contained in the security policy
here (http://csrc.nist.gov/groups/STM/cmvp/documents/140-1/140val-all.htm)
for 3.12.4, I assumed it was still valid.

I've since worked things out, and have the sample working in both C and C++.

Which samples are you looking at?

cryptoki.h is pkcs11.h, but it hasn't had that name in a very long time
(which makes me wonder about the age of the samples).
