I believe there's something available called KeyManager that should
help, from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4471 . It
uses XPCOM IDL to access the platform security module. (It also has
an explicit .xpi signing option; I don't know if that will help, but
it might be useful.)
Thanks Kyle. However, the KeyManager extension has 5 dlls and it has an
MPL license so I would not be able to redistribute it.
What ?!? Why do you believe you cannot redistribute MPL licensed code?
MPL is about the most redistributable code license there is, IMO!
Well this is not about crypto, but just look to see how many commercial
products use MPL. BSD, MIT, Apache, Eclipse are all easier. MPL has
obligations and it has complexity, that puts it somewhere below the
middle of the pack I'd say. I'd have to spend way more time with lawyers
than I'm willing to invest to distribute a free open source project
result. I realize this does not apply to everyone. Also, if I were
working on an MPL-based project then I would make the investment, but
our project is BSD.
