I'm also interested in this discussion. A possible way to debug this is
by using a software-capable PKCS#11 token (either ica_tok or swtok) and
check if the problem is specific to the tpm token or general to
opencryptoki.
Please also make sure to include pkcsconf -t and pkcsconf -s outputs
