I'm looking for information about the Master Password in XPCOM/Firefox. I
looked at the NSS-Module-Sourcecode, but can't figure out how the Master
Password Concept is implemented. Well, first I need to understand that
concept. I haven't been able to find docs on mozilla.org. Is there a good
explanation somewhere?
I need to understand how the DB3 database is protected by the Master
Password. I read the code in mozStorage and saw that the function/methode
encryptString() from nsSDR.cpp is called for encryption of Login
Credentials, which are stored in that sqlite DB. But I'm now lost and can't
find how the Master PWD is used to encrypt. Could somebody link an info-site
or give an explanation or two?
