Sorry. I hate having to do this, but with all the spam that has gone to the mailing list today, because it came through google groups, I must disable the news->mail gateway for a time to stop the spam.
It frustrates me to no end that postings to the mailing list are filtered for all sources EXCEPT the news->mail gateway. Traffic will continue to go from the mailing list to the newsgroup without hindrance. That means that if you have an email subscription to the list and you write to it, your message will be seen by both mailing list readers and newsgroup readers. But messages posted directly to the newsgroup will not be received by the people who read the mailing list. If you read this list as a newsgroup, and really don't want to have all the mail from this list in your mailbox, here's what you can do. Subscribe to the list, but then configure your subscription so that no email is sent from the list to you. (Check the "nomail" box.)
