I don't really have the bandwidth to dive into this discussion, and Frank seems to be doing a good job, but I will comment on this point: the % of _sites_ using EV is pretty much irrelevant. What you need to know is the % of _transactions_ using EV, or even more specifically, the % of value transactions (those where money changes hands). I care much more if Paypal uses EV than if a thousand sites like www.freds-bait-shop.com does.
