In this particular case it's no different than any plugin installed by a user, it's not a system-wide install. It gets dumped into the user's extensions/<vendor>/plugins/ area from an XPI. > Please say more about "all the misinformation out there". > Help us stamp out misinformation by citing it for us. Yeah I could probably do better at keeping track of what I'm talking about. Honestly, prior to your response I didn't think anyone was listening. Most often it's just older information without anything newer available. Most PKCS11 information seems like it's from the 2000/2001 time frame where the extensions mechanism was completely different back then. I think I'm a bit jaded from hanging out in the plugin dev group a long time ago. :) The last thing I ran into was here: http://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Multiple_Item_Packaging In the Installation section at the bottom it says: "Installation can be performed using any of the existing methods used for installing extensions / themes and the same user interface is used for installing a Multiple Item Package (the individual packages contained in the Multiple Item Package will not be listed)." But I'm not so sure about the "Installation can be performed using any of the existing methods" statement because older install.js XPI's inside the Multiple Item Package don't appear to work. Seems like a promising technique if this is possible though. Either that or some other method of getting an install.rdf install to run a script during install. Thanks again!
