I have heard that SSL server certs are available for FREE from Startcom

Wouldn't he require an object-signing aka code-signing cert?
Are those available for a low price, too?
Currently StartCom doesn't provide code-signing certificates (and the trust-bit for code signing is *off* at our CA). Once we'll introduce that, it will be only via our Class 2 verification procedure, as opposed to the free Class 1. The Class 2 verifications (for client / server) currently have a small price tag of US$ 19.90. I expect, that this will be also the case once we are ready for code-signing.

So the original request of this thread and solution offered currently for the add-ons is via SSL secured web sites - as I understood.
