Whow!  Now we are two!   I see the process like this:
1. Develop a system that people hopefully like and start to use
2. Then make it a standard

I started the other way around but with 5 years with zero interest from
Mozilla and Microsoft, you begin to see that Open Source is a better
way ahead.  I also believe that some things need to mature a bit before
you go to a standards body like W3C.  BTW, OASIS and IETF may
be equally suitable.  They may scream for it some day :-)

I also use the Apache XML stuff although I use Xerces and Java which
though requires JRE.
