The second file should actually be key3.db, I corrected myself in a later
post.

Anywyas, I've tried to manually create the mozilla cert db by using

Creating a new database manually should not be the way to go, IMHO.

What Windows are you using?

Did you check for the database file in a location similar to where I found
mine?  Usually, the Firefox installation is system-wide, but the
certificate/key databases are user-specific.  Hence, I would expect to find
these files in C:\Documents and Settings, not in C:\Program Files.

You said you searched your hard-disk under Windows.  Does this search
through hidden files, as well?
