Thank you both for your quick responses. I think CryptoManager is what I have been looking for. The need was for this to be in Java, as I am putting this code in a Java project (see selenium; selenium-rc).
I have found how to import a CA, but am still looking for a way to mark it as a trusted web server. Anyway, I think I am still making some good headway, but if anyone knows of a good example, I would be in your debt.
