So, this is a servo mailing list, so I guess the main issue here is what Servo should do, rather than Rust cryptography in general. I think it would be helpful to think about what the Servo team is doing to make people more confident in Servo than they are in Gecko, Blink, and WebKit. I doubt the situation is different for browser engines than it is for crypto libraries. As far as non-Servo concerns regarding crypto libraries in Rust are concerned, it's probably better to discuss them in a broader forum than this Servo-specific one.
