Sorry to reply to my own post. I just wanted to point out two things: Matt Wobensmith, the QA person that we worked with on mozilla::pkix, was a major factor for its success. Also, most of the code that *isn't* being replaced with Rust code in *ring* is actually OpenSSL's asm code; regardless of what gets rewritten or improved in *ring*, it wouldn't exist at all if not for OpenSSL.
