I totally agree. I had a machine with a 512GB SSD and wound up in the same endless juggle/compress/delete-and-rebuild game. I got a new machine with a 512GB SSD *and* a 1T HDD, and that helps a lot, although the perf hit from the HDD especially when linking libxul is terrible.
