You know all that excess complexity and cruft you're finding in the
codebase and build system? This is how it gets there.
In order to get re-adding those #ifdefs to pass review, you'd need to
(1) promise to maintain them, and (2) find a usage scenario that the
mozilla project would find worth adding some technical debt to the
entire project for.
