Hello,

the non-standard Mobile Identity API [1] allows a privileged web application to
obtain a verified phone number [1]. It is only available on Firefox OS and it
was added with FxOS Hello client requirements in mind [2]. Unfortunately, the
FxOS Hello client didn't last long and now according to the data obtained
through [3] we have no consumer of this API. Given its null usage and given
that we are trying to get rid of as much B2G specific and non-standard APIs as
possible, I am proposing to get rid of this API along with its associated
server part.

The patch to remove the client part from the tree is available at [4].

Cheers,

/ Fernando
