Thanks all for the feedback. I have bug 1109243 filed and have been working on a patch to make this happen.
The one scenario which I don't have a great answer for is comparing to non m-c branches. This seems critical in order to make better use out of this. In fact, there is an example push up here: https://treeherder.mozilla.org/#/jobs?repo=try&revision=618fbb19cf54, you can see the auto retriggers and the orange value. One valuable piece of data is that we will automatically generate sps profiles when we determine this is a retriggered test :) I will be uploading a patch to bug 1109243 and work on outlining what works/doesn't while addressing feedback.
