I'm not quite sure what you're suggesting. Are you suggesting using checkin-needed instead of landing on try, and then having the patches merged directly to m-c? Patches will often contain bugs that only manifest on tbpl and not in local testing, so pushing patches to m-c directly without at least one tbpl iteration means that m-c will be broken most of the time.
