Thank you for the link and thank you for the clarification. The spec (https://wiki.mozilla.org/WebAPI/SimplePush) linked from the bugzilla is very informative and easy to understand! The sad thing for me is that the spec does not cover ordinary webapps for now, as noted on the wiki. I more of hoped for something like sending badges or similar, since if it had been such, it would not be difficult to implement on other web browsers (as extensions) to receive and display notifications from ordinary webapps. I am looking forward to seeing the spec cover webapps as well.
