Do you have an example URL you were using to test out your local media? 

E.g, http://mozilla.github.io/webrtc-landing/gum_test.html should work as per 
what you opt-in to share (either video/audio/both). 

Regarding the default camera, yes, currently the rear is default. There's work 
underway, the MediaTrackConstraint which allows the developer to indicate a 
preference on what camera they want.
