These vertical variant are kind of useless as they also relate to the
various other dir primitives and assume some macro package approach that
for sure differs per package. Originally there were even more directions
but they were even less consistent and more weird.
I'd just forget about them as we're not going to waste time on them (in
luametatex they are absent).
