Git is now supported for artifact based builds for those using git-cinnabar <https://github.com/glandium/git-cinnabar>. The MDN page <https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Developer_guide/Build_Instructions/Artifact_builds> has been updated to reflect this -- other than using git-cinnabar, no specific setup should be required beyond the mozconfig changes mentioned in that article. As a part of this change, artifact builds for those using Mercurial no longer require installing extra Mercurial extensions.
Any issues encountered with git support should be filed as bugs blocking bug 1234913 <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1234913>, and any bugs or feature requests for Artifact Builds not specific to git should be filed blocking the artifact <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=artifact> tracking bug.
