This is within the LiveUSB environment of Ubuntu 12.04 Beta2, as
released today and prepared with the help of the Unetbootin utility.
First thing I did once desktop was loaded was click on the sound
indicator => Sound Settings (in order to see if this crash, that I
have been experiencing with Beta1, still persists). It does persist, a
blank window appears for several seconds, then disappears again. Some
time afterwards a bug report is offered, which eventually lands me
  here.
