I did some further investigating on this, and I don't thing this is a
dup of bug #956824.   This bug occurs on the preinstalled images during
oem-config setup.  Once logged in, the bug never reoccurs.

Also, I hacked the Beta 2 image to update to gnome-settings-
daemon_3.4.0-0ubuntu2_armhf.deb (which fixed bug #956824), and still see
the error during the same phase.

Running apport-retrace on the crash file doesn't produce much helpful
info (corrupt stack).  Trying manual debugging from
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash (although since this
happens only during oem-config, not sure how far I will get).

Oh, and don't bother waiting for the retracers.  They don't work on
armel/armhf bugs.
