When I start the session, the notebook connects fine to the WiFI network and the network indicator reflects this fine. However, when I go to this indicator to enable OpenVPN, the menu of the indicator only shows two entries, the option to enable/disable the network, and the option to enable/disable WiFi. Only after enabling OpenVPN through the network control panel, the indicator menu shows all the usual options, including OpenVPN.
