re opening because numerous users are still reporting the same on at  least 
unity  & unity-2d
The bug is just as described, screen in description & 2 vids in comments 9 & 13

The most common valid options greyed out are 'paste' & 'rename' , less common 
is 'paste into folder'
In all cases the option is click-able & will execute
The view set in nautilus has no bearing on this, I only use icon

Noting again this happens on occasion, there is no way I've seen to
cause at will, may just be one of those things that goes away or doesn't

  this seems to happen on occasion in both unity (3d) & unity-2d
  In the screenshot example have copied the text file & am trying to paste on 
Desktop.
  The option is greyed out though if selected will work
  quiting nautilus & retrying usually restore proper display
