Title:
  gnome-settings-daemon crashed with SIGSEGV in
  g_simple_async_result_complete()

Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  gnome-settings-daemon crashes when I use any of the hotkeys on my
  laptop (MacbookPro 3,1) or external keyboard (Apple Extended USB
  keyboard). This is reproducible, and is a recent regression in 12.04.

  The hotkeys do not have any effect - the brightness hotkey does not
  adjust backlight brightness, for example. The UI becomes unresponsive
  for a few seconds after the crash. The mouse cursor works, but the
  window manager and individual applications do not accept keyboard or
  mouse input.
