As I already wrote. It has happened to me everytime I have tried to send files to google talk contacts. The steps to reproduce (as already mentioned) are: Open up a chat with a google talk friend, select "Send file", select a file i the dialog and press "Select file", watch how either nothing happens or the program crashes.
However, trying to reproduce it this morning I find that the send file functionality has been disabled. So maybe there is already work in progress on this. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to empathy in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/954826 Title: empathy-chat crashed with SIGSEGV in g_type_check_instance() on send file to google talk contact Status in “empathy” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: 1) lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu precise (development branch) Release: 12.04 2) apt-cache policy empathy empathy: Installed: 3.3.90.2-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 3.3.90.2-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 3.3.90.2-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://dk.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3) I expected to be able to send files to my google talk contacts 4) The first two times I tried nothing happened after I pressed send in the select file dialog, the last time the programs crashed.
